These enjoyable and educational classes include live animal demonstrations, interactive discussions, inquiry-based demonstrations and experimentation, hands-on nature exploration, and guided tours of the Zoo. Our program is designed to supplement your home curriculum by creating connections with science and the natural world in an engaging and interactive environment.
While our classes focus primarily on concepts from life science, ecology, and environmental science, we will also incorporate math, engineering, language arts, social studies, art, and Nature Play as appropriate. In each class, we promote 21st Century Skills, including critical thinking, collaboration and teamwork, creativity, imagination, and problem-solving.

Programs will be offered according to the following itinerary for 2024-2025, with several options for when you can register for classes.
When registering, your student will attend either all Thursday sessions OR all Friday sessions. We will see your student once a month. As an example, if you have one 2nd grader, you may choose to register them to come either every first Thursday, every first Friday, OR every second Friday of the month. Classes cover the same topic on either of the days, intended for separate sets of students. During the registration process, you would choose which set of days you prefer to attend, and you would come to the Zoo for classes only once a month for your student.
NEW! In the 2024-2025 school year, students in similar grade bands may find classes on the same day to attend at the Zoo. For example, the 1st-5th grade Class A sessions happen on the same days through the year to allow easier sibling attendance.
