ZOO YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATIONS PLANNED AT BIRMINGHAM ZOO
Get an early start to 2024. Swing into the New Year. Two Zoo Year’s Eve celebrations featuring Jingles, a giant plush monkey, are planned for Sunday, December 31. These are very family friendly events for those who may have trouble staying up until midnight. The giant 5-foot plush primate will be given away in a drawing at the end of the evening.
DAYTIME CELEBRATION – 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
1:15 p.m. – Lemurs: Zookeeper Chat in the Primate/South America Building.
2:00 p.m. – Jingles swings into the New Year. Photo opportunities in the plaza.
2:30 p.m. – Orangutans: Zookeeper Chat in the Primate/South America Building.
1:00 to 3:00 p.m. – Educational activities in the plaza.
PRIMATES & PAJAMAS: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. – Educational activities in the zoo’s plaza.
6:00 p.m. – Jingles swings into the New Year. Photo opportunities in the plaza.
5:00 to 9:00 p.m. – Primate Lantern Scavenger Hunt throughout Wild Glow. See below.
These Zoo Year’s Eve celebrations are included in the cost of zoo admission or the price to attend Glow Wild. The Red Diamond Express train and Full Moon Bar-B-Que Adventure Tower should be available during both celebrations for an additional fee. Glow Wild is sponsored by Alabama Power. UAB Callahan Eye is the supporting sponsor.
WIN JINGLES, the 5-Foot Plush Primate
Post a picture of Jingles on Instagram or Facebook and tag #BhamZoo. One lucky winner will be randomly selected to bring Jingles home after his busy day and evening at Zoo Year’s Eve. Good luck and have fun at Zoo Year’s Eve.
